The 2008 Terre di San Leonardo is a gorgeous entry-level wine. Dark cherries, plums, herbs, leather, spices and minerals are some of the many notes that take shape in the glass. Floral notes add lift and perfume on the finish. This is a fabulous wine for the money. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. The 2007 Terre di San Leonardo is a pretty entry-level red with good juiciness in its plums, wild cherries and grilled herbs. A soft, plump red, the Terre di San Leonardo is best enjoyed over the next few years. The Terre di San Leonardo is Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015. The 2006 Terre di San Leonardo shows a little more character than the 2007, but much of that may come from an extra year in bottle. Sweet tobacco, herbs and cedar add complexity to the dark red fruit. This medium-bodied, juicy Bordeaux-styled red offers excellent drinking over the near and medium term.
