This estate, known for its boatload of very fine Pinot Noirs, has produced an outstanding opaque ruby/purple-colored 2007 Syrah Bien Nacido Vineyard. Although still somewhat tannic and closed, it is weighty and rich, offering hints of loamy soil, lead pencil shavings, tapenade, black currants, and black cherries.
