The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Star Vineyard flows across the palate with layers of dark, seamless fruit. It is a soft, textured wine graced with soft, supple tannins and a silky personality. Far more interesting is the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Star Vineyard. A lot of the fruit from this vineyard goes into the Oroppas cuvee, but this single vineyard, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon offering reveals abundant aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry and raspberry fruit intermixed with hints of kirsch and cedarwood. Another impressive effort is the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Star Vineyard, which offers a dense purple color, exceptional purity, and abundant incense, camphor, blueberry and blackberry notes intertwined with hints of violets and spicy oak. From the famed Rutherford dust of northern Napa, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Star Vineyard's dark ruby/purple color is followed by a sweet bouquet of cedar, black cherries, black currants, and a touch of spicy oak, medium to full-bodied flavors, ripe tannins, and a round, generous finish. This outstanding, well-made Cabernet Sauvignon should evolve nicely for 15+ years. St.Clement's 2006 Cabernet Sauvignons are not as impressive as their superb 2005s, but they are well-made.Tel.
