Made with splashes of Syrah, the 2019 Grenache Wonderland opens to high-toned red fruit aromas with notions of cherry skin, roasted almonds and a delightful potpourri essence. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is balanced with an umami nature before showing fine-grained tannins that linger through the delightful and succulent finish with notions of wild raspberry and spiced black tea.

The 2017 Grenache Wonderland, a blend of 86% Grenache and 14% Syrah, has a complex red-fruited nose with sweet and savory aromas of red spices and pink flowers. Medium-bodied on the palate, the wine is structured and balanced, with a pleasing complexity and flavors of confected cherry and strawberry licorice that linger on the thoughtful, focused finish. Only 379 cases made.

The 2016 Grenache Wonderland (which contains 12% Syrah) opens in the glass with a spicy bouquet of cherries, raspberries and white pepper. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, supple and succulent, with a nice core of sweet fruit and some chewy tannins that assert themselves on the finish. Follow it over the next 5 or 6 years.

A step up over the 2012, the 2013 Grenache Wonderland is outstanding, with lots of Provencal character in its savory herbs, mulled red and black fruits and dried lavender-like aromas and flavors. These give way to a ripe, sexy and hedonistically styled Grenache that stays lively and fresh on the palate, with a great finish. Incorporating 12% Syrah and seeing 30-50% whole clusters, it spent 12 months in 25% new French oak prior to bottling, it should drink nicely for another 5-6 years.
