Fashioned entirely from the estate’s oldest (25 years old) vines, the 2002 Pinot Noir Watershed Block (100 cases) has a surprisingly light, ruby-colored robe (Rosner and owner Susan Sokol Blosser say that the color is typical of the terroir). Its full, rich bouquet has an arresting blend of raisins, tea, cherry-tobacco and Port-like scents. Underneath are nuances of licorice and tobacco, and it smells and tastes like a Chianti riserva.
