Salwey's 2020 Pinot Noir Henkenberg GG shows a smoky nose with very ripe and spicy berry aromas. It is silky and, thanks to the raisins, also fresh (thank goodness) but with very ripe, sweet fruit; this is nevertheless a good, mineral and persistent Pinot Noir of remarkable harmony and balance. Tasted in Wiesbaden, August 2022. To be released next year.

The 2018 Sp?tburgunder Henkenberg GG is coolish and heavy on the elegant, refined and floral nose with its lovely fresh cherry aromas. Silky, fresh and coolish on the palate, this is a remarkably tight and persistent Pinot with tension, grip and concentration for this warm and dry vintage. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2020.

The 2017 Sp?tburgunder Henkenberg GG opens pure, fresh and floral on the precise and nicely reductive nose. Smooth and round on the palate, this is a full-bodied, charming, intense and juicy Pinot with a long, intense, very juicy yet refined finish. The tannins are perfectly ripe and fine and so is the acidity. It is intensely aromatic on the finish. Impressive Pinot. Tasted in May 2020.

The 2016 Henkenberg Sp?tburgunder GG is very delicate and fresh on the fruity (red berries) nose, rather feminine and perfumed and just lovely. The attack on the palate is delicate and silky, with fine acidity that takes the wine to a long and pure, wonderfully crunchy and persistent finish. This is a graceful Pinot with a spectacularly long and refreshing finish. A gorgeous wine and totally built on finesse and elegance. Tasted in Wiesbaden in August 2019.

The 2015 Henkenberg Sp?tburgunder GG has a medium-intense but luminous ruby-garnet color and displays a deep, ripe, fine and elegant bouquet of ripe and lush fruits with a very fine floral note. Dense, sweet and finessed on the palate, with power, concentration and tension, this is an excellent, persistent and promising Pinot from Oberrotweil.
