Nils Venge is thrilled with his 1997 Venge Family Reserve Late Harvest Zinfandel. A curiosity, this effort exhibits an Amarone, creosote, cigar box nose; it has 7.6% residual sugar and is a fat, juicy, sweet Zinfandel. It is not my style of wine, but this effort is certainly well-made, and some readers will get a blast from this sweet Zinfandel rendition. This 1997 should drink well for 5-10 years.Tel.
