The 1999 Zinfandel Alegria Vineyard (14.1% alcohol) is a field blend of 78% Zinfandel, 14% Petite Sirah, and 8% Alicante Bouchet. Some of the vines date back to 1892. Flamboyant aromas of black raspberries, cherries, and currants jump from the glass. There is a subtle oak component, as well as plenty of spice, leather, pepper, and sweet fruit in this medium-bodied, elegant, dark ruby/purple-colored Zinfandel.
