Very simple and unassuming, the 2014 Morellino di Scansano would wash down with pepperoni pizza or grilled sausage. The wine presents a basic Sangiovese profile with cherry, blueberry, forest bramble and wild mushroom. The finish is a bit tangy and thorny.

The 2012 Morellino di Scansano Campo Maccione is a perfumed wine laced with dried rose bud, mint, wet terracotta and garden herb. It’s a simple expression of Sangiovese (with 10% Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot) with relatively little weight or endurance on the palate.
