The 2009 Cabernet Franc (60%) - Cabernet Sauvignon (40%) offers up earthy aromas and flavors and a slightly clipped finish. It is a pleasant enough offering, but the quality of its two siblings suggests that what I tasted may not have been a pristine bottle. Bodega Ricominciare exclusively employs grapes from its Finca San Vicente Estate in La Consulta. The vineyard has been in family hands for over 50 years. The 2006 Cabernet Franc & Cabernet Sauvignon is a bit lighter in color, less dense on the palate, but a bit more elegant. It offers up attractive spice box and black fruit aromas and flavors, plenty of juicy fruit, good balance, and a fruit-filled finish. It, too, can be enjoyed over the next 6 years.
