The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cazetiers offers up notes of plums, cassis, forest floor and espresso roast, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy core of ripe fruit framed by velvety tannins, its rich, ample core segueing into a long, expansive finish.

Bursting from the glass with aromas of cassis, plums, dark chocolate and sweet soil tones, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cazetiers is medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with tangy acids, powdery tannins and a long, nicely defined finish.

The 2013 Gevrey-Chambertin les Cazetiers 1er Cru, which is a domaine wine, has a slightly more backward nose than its fellow Gevery ‘13s. The palate is medium-bodied and feels a little more angular than the Poissenots, the acidity quite pronounced and citric, but it has commendable weight and girth on the finish. Give this Cazetiers a couple of years in bottle.
