The wine has some earthiness and loads of tannins, with a skillfully crafted finish that tapers softly as the flavor fades into the distance. This is nicely handled and quite firm to close.

On the full-bodied palate, it's marked by cassis, red currants and dark chocolate, but it's remarkably lively and fresh, finishing with a flurry of soft, dusty tannins and ample length.
