What a roll Peju has been on with Bordeaux wines. This is the first Petit Verdot I’ve had from them, and it’s very good, given the variety’s inherent limitations. It’s dark, very dry, full-bodied and intensely tannic, with currant flavors. You could try stashing it away for a decade, or drink it now with a well-marbled steak. ——S.H.(5/1/2006)—— 89
