The 2011 Les Cerveres is a pure Xarello from a vineyard planted in 1969 on calcareous soils fermented and aged in new French oak barrels for eight months with frequent batonnage. It has a buttery, chalky nose with notes of candied orange peel, cloves and vanilla. The palate is round, with glycerin and good body, balancing acidity and a long finish, ending dry. Drink now-2017.
Oriol Rosell is a small family winery created in 1984 around their 80 hectares of vineyards. They produce both Cava and still Penedes wines. 350,000 bottles are produced annually. As you can see they are quite committed to the white Xarello grape.
