The Syrah Bouquet Garni is made from 100% Syrah, from a field selection of three Syrah clones planted to a vineyard in Sonoma’s Bennett Valley. A barrel sample, the 2019 Syrah Bouquet Garni has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and seriously punchy, fantastically fruity scents of crushed black plums, boysenberries and wild blueberries plus suggestions of dark chocolate, blackberry preserves, Sichuan pepper and violets. The medium to full-bodied palate has a solid backbone of ripe, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, supporting the core of juicy black and blue fruits, finishing with a peppery kick. 160 cases are due to be made.

The medium-bodied palate offers fantastic energy and tension, laden with black and red fruit layers and loads of pepper and spice sparks. Framed by ripe rounded tannins, it finishes long and perfumed. 135 cases were made.

Deep purple-black in color, the 2017 Syrah Bouquet Garni springs form the glass with savory/earthy elements of dried herbs, black olives, charcoal and beef drippings over a core of fresh blackberries and warm plums plus a waft of cigar box. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a compelling chewiness to the texture, matching all those savory layers, finishing long and pepper-laced. 147 cases were made.

The 2016 Syrah Bouquet Garni is composed of 100% Syrah from three clones planted on Goulding cobbling clay loam at 600 feet in elevation, fermented one-third in puncheons and two-thirds in stainless steel. Deep purple-black colored, it gives up notes of dried herbs, tar, black cherries and baked plums with touches of smoked meats and tapenade. Full-bodied, firm and grainy, it delivers mouth-filling black fruit and earthy layers with a very long, pepper-laced finish. 135 cases produced.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Syrah Bouquet Garni has pronounced tar, cassis and violets with hints of cloves, black pepper and chargrill. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm backbone of chewy tannins and tons of spiciness, finishing with great persistence. 125 cases were made.
