Expansive, ripe and richly textured, the Monteverro 2015 Chardonnay is a full-bodied white that doles out generous and opulent fruit. The wine is creamy, fibrous and succulent with a long range of apricot, tropical fruit, toasted almond and delicate vanilla-like aromas. Half of the assembled blend is aged in French barrique for 14 months and the other half goes into cement eggs. The results are bright, tonic and clear, but the wine maintains that deep inner sense of sunshine and concentration that is characteristic of this warm vintage. Some 7,460 bottles were made.
