This Syrah-based cuvee is aged in barrel, but the cedary notes are only a backdrop to the floral, garrigue notes and dark fruit aromas. In the mouth, the flavors seem brighter and more like red berries, with plenty of savory spice for interest. It’s drinking well now, but the moderate tannins suggest it should hold through 2016.——J.C.(12/15/2011)—— 90
