Several of this producer’s other offerings were pleasant, but unexciting. However, their most expensive cuvee, the 2001 Seleccion (an unfiltered blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Tempranillo that spent 18 months in French barrels) reveals a Pomerol-like creamy richness along with a rich, sumptuous bouquet of plums, sweet mocha-infused black cherries, and smoke. This elegant, deep, rich, concentrated, lightly tannic, medium to full-bodied effort should drink well for 5-7 years.Importer: Steven Berardi, Elizabeth Imports, Denver, CO; tel. (303) 329-3180
