This famous negociant/vineyard owner, founded in 1797, has made very fine 1992s. The big wines, such as the top premier crus and grand crus, spend a year in 100% new oak and have considerable lees contact for the first 7-8 months, although there is no stirring, or so-called "batonage" practiced. Latour's 1992s will be released in late fall, 1993.
Among the three premier crus from Puligny-Montrachet, the 1992 Puligny-Montrachet-Premier Cru is elegant, tasty, and attractive in a straightforward, satisfying fashion. Louis Latour is represented by different importers in each state.
