The 2016 Auxey-Duresses Rouge (Maison Louis Jadot) offers up aromas of red berries, plums and herbs, followed by a medium-bodied palate that's somewhat tangy and austere, seemingly impacted by the year's spring frosts. It's a solid effort with challenging raw materials, but nothing more.

A wine that should be consumed in the near term, the ruby-colored 2000 Auxey-Duresses, reveals lovely red cherry fruit aromas. On the palate, it is expressive, with loads of cedar-laced red fruits, and light to medium body. Even though it has a firm backbone, it should be consumed over the next 2 years.
