The 2021 season in Margaret River was cool, and it has shown a plethora of Chardonnays made in this year to be glassy, pristine and fine. Here, the 2021 Wilyabrup Chardonnay leads with a nose of white peach, white chocolate drops, spiced pear, doughnut peach and Golden Delicious apples. In the mouth, the wine is tight and tense, with a splay of toasty oak through the finish, which does not have a lot of fruit intensity or length. It's lovely while it is there, though. 12.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

The single vineyard, 100% hand-picked and whole cluster pressed 2012 Wilyabrup Chardonnay undergoes no malo and is unfiltered. The nose opens to toasty, yeasty and nutty notes wafting over a core of ripe peaches, spiced pears and apple tart. The satin-textured palate gives plenty of spiced apple and pear flavors complimented by a suggestion of toasty oak and refreshing acidity before finishing with great length. Drink it now to 2018. The 2011 Wilyabrup Chardonnay offers a nose of mandarin peel and apricots with nuances of nuts, honey-drizzled oatmeal and preserved ginger. Medium-bodied with a nice silkiness to the texture, crisp and quite a mineral character in the mouth, it has a long finish. Drink it now to 2016+. No known USA importer.

The 2008 Wilyabrub Chardonnay was fermented and matured in new and 1 year French oak. It provides pronounced notes of white peach, warm grapefruit, cedar and cream. This medium bodied wine has a high level of refreshing acidity with a good amount of citrusy / stone fruit flavors and a long finish. Delicious now, it should keep to 2014.
