Co-fermented with 4% of Viognier, the 2020 Syrah The Beautiful is marked with a classic Walla Walla mineral essence and open-knit expression that offers delightful spicy aromas that merge with floral and potpourri elements. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is spicy, elegant and fresh, with hints of iodine and brown baking spices before ending with a lingering and spicy finish. This fantastic, food-friendly wine is set to be released in September of 2023. Yum!

Coming from the Powerline vineyard and containing 3% Viognier, the 2018 Syrah The Beautiful wafts with gorgeous dark fruit aromas with elements of salami, black pepper, roasted herbs and baked cherries. Medium to full-bodied, the Syrah has impeccable balance with a juicy, spicy nature and tones of cinnamon, nutmeg and blackberry preserves before highlighting its natural beauty with a firm yet elegant black pepper tone and succulent tannins. Concluding with a long-lingering and evolving finish, the Syrah The Beautiful continues to be a bottling that impresses year after year. The wine was whole-cluster fermented and rested for 18 months on the lees in 43% new French oak puncheons. Yum! Just over 13,500 bottles were produced.

Dark purple to the core with a soft purple rim, the 2017 Syrah The Beautiful offers aromas of Walla Walla funk, with baked stones, stewed black fruit and lingering black spice tones with a hint of oak on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, the wine is expressive and pleasurable across the palate, showing impeccable balance and remaining slightly funky before ending with a remarkably long finish. Bravo!

The 2016 Syrah The Beautiful is rich and lush on the nose with an impressive core of sappy fruit, savory essence, olive tapenade and crushed violets. The full-bodied palate is generous and compelling with a robust yet velvety base that demonstrates elegance with power. The wine glides over the palate, connecting structuring tannins and supporting acidity to carry this wine for more than a decade. The wine ends with a long and drawn-out finish, with mineral tension and lingering spice tones on the aftertaste. Just 1,135 cases were produced.

Co-fermented with 3% Viognier, the 2015 Syrah The Beautiful is fabulous, bursting from the glass with exotic aromas of violets, blackberries, panforte, black olives and lychee nuts (fanciful though that mélange sounds). On the palate, it's full-bodied, velvety and lavishly textural, cutting a broad swath across the palate, with a deep core of dark fruit and pungent savory nuance, concluding with a fine-grained, mouthwateringly sapid finish. It's a compelling Syrah that brooks no argument.
