The new releases from Isenhower include one white wine, the 2010 White Paintbrush, a blend of 79% Roussanne from the Olsen Ranch Vineyard and 21% Marsanne from Desert Hills Vineyard. The Marsanne and ? the Roussanne were fermented in neutral French oak while the other ? of the Roussanne was fermented in tank, both portions with batonnage. The wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. Aromas of mango, tangerine, honeysuckle, mineral, and melon inform the nose of a vibrant, fresh, savory wine that admirably reflects the cool vintage with its elevated natural acidity. Well-balanced and lengthy, it will provide enjoyment for several more years. Brett and Denise Isenhower began their Walla Walla-based winery in 1999. Their response to recessionary times has been to cut production and move primarily to direct sales. As a result, they have established a tasting room in Woodinville (where the customers are located).Tel. (509) 526-7896; www.isenhowercellars.com
