The 2009 Pinot Noir West Ridge is another rich, textured Pinot from Hirsh. This is a more overt, fruit-driven style than the San Andreas Fault. Layers of sweet red cherries, mint, licorice, spices and French oak wrap around a generous, refined finish. The West Ridge is made from three hilltop blocks on the property. It is slightly leaner in style than the East Ridge bottling. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019. This is a thrilling set of wines from Hirsch that captures the essence of everything that makes the Sonoma Coast so compelling. The wines are made with natural primary and secondary fermentations and are bottled without fining or filtration.Tel. (707) 847-3600
