The 2009 ROSE “OLHO DE MOCHO” (I received this and the ’08 around the same time, the latter the current entrant in the marketplace, the ’09 just arriving at the time I received it…) is a Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Aragonez blend, like the 2008 reviewed this issue. It is flavorful, aromatic and pointed, persistent enough to stand up to some typical red wine food matchups at the moment. It did show a little alcohol here and there. Drink now-2011. The 2008 ROSE “OLHO DE MOCHO” is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Syrah and Aragonez. Flavorful, but crisp, this rather persistent pink is drinking well. The 2006 ROSE “OLHO DE MOCHO” is a blend of Touriga Nacional and Syrah. It is a pink with some character, as it has a certain earthy finish underneath the tasty strawberry fruit. It also has nice acidity, which gives it a succulent finish to go with its reasonable depth and character. This should drink well in the Summer of 2008 and for awhile thereafter, but for best results, this Summer would be ideal. Drink now-2009.There is no USA importer at this time.
