The 2005 TINTO ROCIM is attractive at its roughly 8.5 Euro price on the winery’s website, although there is no USA importer at this time. It is a blend of Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Syrah. Earthy and bright, it has nice grip on the finish, which delivers a wave of flavor. It is nicely structured for its price range. It is a bit lean in the mid-palate and thins noticeably with air, but for its price range, it delivers value for the money, can age a reasonable time and has some charm as well as structure. Drink now-2013. Rocim is a relatively new winery, purchased in 2000. Many of the vines are newly planted, although the Aragonez, Antao Vaz and Trincadeira vines are older. There is no USA importer at this time.
