The 2005 GEWURZTRAMINER HEIGHTS WINE LATE HARVEST YARDEN never showed or will show better than on or near release. As its fruit has matured, it has lost some of the sexy voluptuousness that made it seem so impressive earlier. It may not have quite enough acidity to allow it to age gracefully and will likely decline fairly consistently as time goes on. That said, this is still delicious, with a nice finish and succulent fruit. Drink now-2011. Golan Heights is Israel’s semi-mythical winery, the one that pretty much kicked off the quality revolution that people are now talking about. Its best wines are among Israel’s best, although the wide range of products and lack of focus can make it somewhat unpredictable. These are all Kosher (not Mevushal).Importer: Yarden, Inc., New York, N.Y.; tel: (212) 997-9463
