Candido's 2007 Duca D'Aragona is a barrique-aged blend of Negroamaro (80%) and Montepulciano. The wine offers an attractive level of aromatic intensity and shows defined layers of spice, dried fruit, wet clay, medicinal herb, rosemary and crème de cassis. It delivers medium concentration and a very direct or genuine quality. Also showing evolved tertiary aromas, the wine is more ethereal and nuanced than most other red wines from Southern Italy.
