Blueberries and roasted meat mark the nose of the 2020 Ermitage Ex Voto, which comes from estate parcels in Les Bessards (30%), Les Greffieux (30%), Les Murets (20%) and L'Hermite (20%). Full-bodied and concentrated, it's remarkably silky and elegant on the finish already.

The 2017 Ermitage Ex Voto is sturdy, rich and intense, even for Hermitage. Crushed stone and plum notes mark the nose, while the full-bodied palate is tannic and dusty in feel, ending on additional notes of crushed stone, pencil shavings and cassis. Give it a few more years in the cellar and drink it over the next decade or so.

Still open, fruity and seductive, the 2016 Hermitage Ex Voto is a full-bodied yet lush, creamy-textured wine filled with red raspberries, vanilla and spice. In time, it could prove to be as good as the exciting 2015.
