Coming from a 5 hectare block about 1 kilometer east of Mount Mary, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon gives a deep garnet color and complex aromas of dried plums, creme de cassis, leather, oolong tea, cumin, tree bark and damp earth. Medium to full bodied, the flavors are concentrated and though just a smidge lacking in the mid-palate, well supported by medium-high acid and firm, grainy tannins. The finish is long and savory. Drinking now, it should continue to evolve gracefully, cellaring to 2018+. Dominique Portet does not have a USA importer but exports to Dubai, Hong Kong , China, Holland , Canada and Singapore .
