The 2000 Heritage is a vin de pays from some of the estate's youngest vines. Made from 100% Grenache (all from the appellation of Gigondas even though Yves Gras calls it a VDP) it was aged in tank and bottled quickly to take advantage of its vibrant, straightforward, black cherry and raspberry fruit. Serve it slightly chilled over the next 1-2 years. As I indicated in 2001, Yves Gras, one of the most talented producers of Gigondas, is also offering wines under a negociant label called Santa Duc Selections. These offerings are made from purchased fruit, as opposed to the estate-bottled efforts that appear under the name Domaine Santa Duc.Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
