Tasted at the H2Vin Rhone tasting in London. Like Gaillard’s other 2009’s, this Clos du Cuminaille is broody and a little introverted on the nose with dark cherry, bay leaf, white fennel and leather on the nose. The palate is vibrant on the entry with lively peppery red fruit, slightly chalky in texture with good attack and acidic cut on the finish. This is a very fine Saint Joseph. Tasted February 2011.
