The 2012 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Clos de La Boulotte (a monopole belonging to the domaine) seems a little over-baked on the nose, rather forced and lacking natural composure. The palate is medium-bodied and sweet on the entry, quite savory but at least demonstrating a modicum of harmony on the finish. Drink now-2016. To be honest, I found this producer’s wines to be lacking the same quality level as its peers, perhaps partly because of the challenges faced during the growing season. No known US importer but available through Cave for Cases in the UK.
