The Dublere 2006 Pommard Les Poutures is from a site geographically unrelated to the similar sounding "Pitures" of Volnay, but rather located immediately south of the village of Pommard. This happens to have been the only wine Pethel chaptalized this year, and he chose not to renew the contract on the grapes after this vintage. Saline beef bouillon aromas and flavors offer a typical expression of this commune and the relative lightness of color and sense of lift are very much of the vintage. This is quite expansive in the mouth even if not especially emphatic, and should prove very useful over the next 3-4 years.
