The 2009 Cuvee Dona Maria, which is 80% Grenache and the rest Syrah, displays the classic Grenache character of kirsch liqueur, lavender, licorice, underbrush, and pepper. Deliciously fruity, medium to full-bodied, dark ruby, and a total hedonistic turn-on, it should drink well for 2-3 years. (Not yet released)This is another emerging estate from the Cotes du Ventoux, an area being looked at very carefully by a number of the oenologists who work for Philippe Cambie and his laboratory in Beaumes de Venise.
