Light salmon in color and a dry, crisp rose that’s beautifully refreshing, the 2012 Cotes du Rhone Rose (Laurent first made a rose in 2009) is made from a blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Bourboulenc that was fermented all in concrete. Melon, honeydew and strawberry all shine here, and it is classically dry on the palate, with solid mid-palate fruit. Buy this beauty by the case and enjoy it over the coming year. 280 cases imported. Drink now-2013.
Consistently producing lively, fresh and elegant efforts that never lack for structure or richness, Domain Charvin is run by the soft spoken and generous Laurent Charvin. The winemaking here is very traditional, with some stem inclusion and aging completely in tank.
