Named after Jean-Christophe Bott's two year old son, the pear and chamomile-scented 2000 Riesling Grafenreben Cuvee Pierre-Antoine Vendanges Tardives displays outstanding depth to its mineral-laden character. Botrytis, gravel, and pears can also be discerned throughout this elongated wine's personality. Readers should note that it is off-dry, not sweet. Projected maturity: 2004-2014. The youthful Jean-Christophe Bott, this winery's winemaker and director, believes 2000 "is not an exceptional vintage, yet is outstanding. The last extraordinary year we had was 1990. That being said, the 2000s all have beautiful richness of fruit and some have excellent acidity."Importer: European Cellars, Eric Solomon, Charlotte, NC; tel.
