The estate's top bottling, the 2017 Cairanne Castel Mireio is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, all matured in older barrels. It's full-bodied, plush and velvety, with subtle cinnamon and cedar shadings layered over ripe cherries. Long, intense and licorice-tinged on the finish, it's a super example of Cairanne that should drink well for a decade.

A rich, classy effort that has a slightly modern profile, the 2011 Cairanne Castel Mireio offers ample sweet blackberry, licorice, earth and mineral notes as well as a medium-bodied, concentrated and textured personality.
