The 2003 Reserva (Patamar), a blend of Tinta Roriz and Touriga Franca, is grapy, oaky and simple. It seems to finish harshly, and also has some funk on the nose that translates to the palate. This provides little of distinction and there was not much I liked about its flavor presentation. It does have decent structure for a wine in its price range. This is a blend of Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Drink now-2009. DFJ Vinhos makes a large range of value wines. It is probably best known internationally in the United Kingdom in that some of its former principals were partners in a UK importing company focused on Portuguese wines. Not surprisingly, DFJ holds a substantial share of the UK Portuguese market (43%, I was told). The wines reviewed here mostly seemed foursquare to me, with a certain routine air, but they offer decent value.Importers: Lemae Group, LLC, Smyrna, GA; tel.
