Denner's 2014 Viognier Denner Vineyard is a beautiful white that offers textbook Viognier notes of tangerine, buttered citrus and white flowers in a medium-bodied, lively, yet still rich, layered style.

Also outstanding, the 2013 Viognier, which was aged half in barrel and half in stainless steel, offers textbook tangerine, buttered citrus and white peach in its medium-bodied, seamless and elegant profile. This beauty has both richness and freshness, and will drink nicely for 2-3 years. As always, I had a great visit with winemaker Anthony Yount. The wines continue to go from strength to strength, and at this point, are a match for anything coming out of the west side of Paso Robles. These are high-quality wines that merit attention. Tel. A rich, textured yet also pure white, Denner’s 2012 Viognier offers up solid stone fruits, hints of flowers and juicy peach to go with a medium-bodied, mouth-filling profile on the palate. Finishing with clean acidity and beautiful focus, it’s an outstanding Viognier that has both richness and freshness. Enjoy it over the coming year or three. Drink now-2016. Denner’s 2010 Viognier comes across as tight, cool and mineral-driven in this vintage. The open, generous personality of Viognier is evident, but in more reserved, hushed tones than in some previous years. The 2010 was aged partly in stainless steel and partly in oak, (23% new), with a dollop of aging in concrete. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Denner this year.
