Sourced primarily from the little-known lieu-dit of Layat, the 2018 Cote Rotie Seigneur de Maugiron delivers cedary, charred aromas that outline delicate cherry and raspberry fruit. Despite the delicacy, there's a wiry sense of structure to this medium-bodied effort, and ample fine-grained tannins are evident on the silky finish. Give it another year or two in the cellar, and drink it over the next decade or so.
