The 2017 Vermentino di Gallura Superiore Thilibas is a little dried out by the vintage heat, showing summer grass aromas and stacked hay. No oak is used here. Give the wine a few seconds in the glass, and it begins to show citrus, honeydew melon and Granny Smith apple. This is one of those fresh, easy and zesty entry-level whites to pair with take-out sushi, or a typical Sardinian pan-fried triglia (mullet). Production is 30,000 bottles strong.
