A concrete-aged blend of 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, the 2017 Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu shows hints of crushed stone on the nose, followed by waves of blackberry, black cherry and ripe stone fruit on the full-bodied palate. It's rich and concentrated, with a velvety feel and a long finish. It should drink well for 5-6 years.

Romain Duvernay has turned out a bevy of lovely wines from these two vintages. Loaded with black cherries and spice, the 2015 Cotes du Rhone Village Plan de Dieu is full-bodied, creamy-textured and supple. It should drink well for at least 4-5 years.
