Last time I tasted 2009 and I got a bottle of the 20013 Quindals, a blend of Garnacha with 5% each Syrah and Cari?ena. For a cool vintage like 2013, it has 15% alcohol and high ripeness, and the nose is not really 100% focused. There is an herbal twist that is also noticeable in the lightish palate. 15,000 bottles.

The 2009 Quindals is a blend of Garnacha with 5% each Syrah and Cari?ena. It has the wild character of an old-styled Mediterranean red, with ripe black fruit and plenty of aromatic herbs. It also has the added complexity of some bottle age (it was bottled back in February 2011), notes of cured meats, balsamic and developed. The palate feels quite polished with fully-resolved tannins, somehow rustic but pleasant. 15, 000 bottles produced.

The 2007 Quindals is a blend of 90% Garnacha with the balance Syrah and Carinena aged for 12 months in 50% new French oak. It delivers an expressive nose of toasty oak, loads of spice, black cherry, and a hint of blueberry in the background. The 2006 Quindals is 90% Garnacha with the balance Syrah and Carinena that spent 12 months in 50% new French oak. Medium ruby-colored, it displays an enticing nose of kirsch, black cherry, garrigue, Asian spices, and smoke reminiscent of a top Chateauneuf du Pape. On the palate it has superb volume, tons of spice, succulent fruit, a forward personality, and a lengthy, pure finish. This outstanding value over-delivers in a big way.
