The 2009 The Site Chardonnay has a very refined bouquet with touches of lemon curd and almond, the best defined of all De Wetshof’s Chardonnays. The palate is neutral on the entry but builds on the mouth, a wine defined more by its pleasing texture than flavour compared to The Site ‘10, but its demonstrates precision on the Chassagne-like finish. Drink now-2018. Based in Robertson, De Wetshof was founded by Danie de Wet who pioneered many of South Africa’s dry white wines in the 1970’s after taking over from his father in 1972.Importer: Worthwhile Wine Company, Atlanta, GA; tel.
