The 2007 Riesling Reserve is medium straw-colored with a nose featuring mineral, spring flowers, apple blossom, and lemon-lime. Medium-bodied and just off-dry, the slight sweetness gives an impression of richness and depth. It is nicely balanced by crisp acidity leading to a long, refreshing finish. It may well evolve for several years but can be enjoyed now as an aperitif. Cousino-Macul was one of the first wineries from Chile to make a breakthrough into the American market primarily due to the hard work of importer Alfredo Bartholomaus. The 2006 Riesling offers an expressive perfume of slate, petrol, and acacia. It is just off-dry with crisp acidity, intense flavors, and a lengthy, clean finish.
