Significantly denser than the 2001 Valpolicella Ca Fiui, the saturated dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 Valpolicella Classico was made by the Ripasso method, and aged in large neutral wood ovals. The bouquet offers up aromas of sweet strawberries, black cherries, chocolate, and earth. Medium-bodied and concentrated, with no hard edges, it should drink well for 5-6 years.
