You get great value out of the Loacker Schwarhof 2017 Rosso di Montalcino Corte Pavone. It opens to dark and rich fruit intensity that extends beyond what you'll find in your standard Rosso. That pretty intensity goes a long way on the nose and the palate, with pretty notes of blackberry, plum and cherry that are the building blocks of its lasting textural richness. The wine delivers ample extract and lots of fresh acidity for balance. A case of this Rosso and a couple of trays of lamb lasagna would make for a low-cost party that clears the culinary bar, nonetheless.

The 2016 Rosso di Montalcino Corte Pavone shows a darkly saturated color and robust appearance. The bouquet ushers forth a broad continuum of dark fruit nuances with grilled herb and anise seed. The wine is light in terms of mouthfeel with a compact approach and silky finish. This is an informal expression, but the quality of the fruit achieved in this vintage is clear. Some 10,000 bottles were made.

The 2015 Rosso di Montalcino Corte Pavone offers a complete spectrum of dark fruit and blackberry aromas. The quality of fruit is intense, soft, rich and ripe. This is a great value deal from Montalcino. This wine will prove to pair easily with grilled meats or just a simple (but delicious) cheeseburger. The palate is firm in texture and simple in delivery. You absolutely can't go wrong here.
