With lively and very active beading, the Contratto 2018 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Rosé Pas Dosé For England reveals a pinkish copper hue with steady foam. The bouquet offers citrus, pink grapefruit, unripe peach and crushed stone. As it opens in the glass, you also get faint tones of sweet breakfast pastry. These results are elegant and silky.

The Contratto 2017 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Rosé Pas Dosé For England opens to a pale cranberry-pink color with amber highlights. The beading is fine and silky. In terms of this sparkler's aromas, you get tart citrus and lots of grapefruit with some orchard fruit, toast and crushed mineral. This wine shows a steely, tonic and firm personality, although you do also taste some of the soft, hot-vintage fruit.

The Contratto 2016 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Rosé Pas Dosé For England shows pretty color saturation with an elegant pink hue and hints of shiny copper. This wine made exclusively with Pinot Noir offers a heavier center of gravity and more fruit weight, with spicy and tonic beading on the close. This more full-bodied style allows for plenty of orchard fruit, crushed mineral and some baked bread.

Opening to a pale pink color, the 2015 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Rosé Pas Dosé For England is a graceful and elegant sparkling wine with tart berry aromas, wild strawberry and pink grapefruit. Background tones include almond pastry and crushed rock or aspirin. This is a lean sparkling wine that shows extra volume thanks to the lively nature of its fine beading and soft foam. This bottle was disgorged in January 2020.

The 2014 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Rosé Pas Dosé For England is a beautiful Pinot Noir rosato with lots of bright fruit and a refreshing snappiness to it. It pours to a graceful light pink color and serves notes of tangerine skin and lemon zest. You really feel the acidity on the tip of the tongue here, with sharp, linear edges. This is my favorite expression among these new releases from Contratto.
