Only 5,800 bottles were filled after the wine rested in two-thirds neutral oak with 26% new French and 7% new American oak barrels.

Medium to full-bodied, the Cabernet is framed with succulent tannins and gobs of red and black fruit flavors, ending with a delightful finish that lingers with blackberry essence and tones of bitter dark chocolate. Rested in all French oak, 70% first use, this Cabernet offers a remarkable experience for the price.

Containing a 2% splash of Merlot, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard displays dark fruit expressions of cassis and currant on the nose, with a ripe, elegant core and softly aromatic exotic spices. Medium-bodied, the wine shows flavors of subtly bitter dark chocolate across the mid-palate, followed by a grippy finish that lingers with notes of soft plum skin. With 10,600 cases made, this wine shows good value for the price.

Offering up aromas of sweet cassis fruit, cigar tobacco and rich spices, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard is medium-bodied, supple and velvety, with good balance and a generous core of fruit, concluding with an attractively savory finish. It's a success.

Made from 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, aged 22 months in 62% new French oak, it has fabulous Cabernet character in its ripe currant fruits, crushed rock, and tobacco leaf-like aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with a great texture, drink it anytime over the coming decade.
